Jianghong Li
Assistant Professor
Dr. Jianghong Li is a social and behavioral scientist with extensive experience conducting applied research with underserved and marginalized populations experiencing health disparities. Her work is grounded in community-engaged approaches that emphasize stakeholder involvement, empowerment, and resilience. Dr. Li has extensive experience in NIH grant development and has served as Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator on more than 20 NIH-funded studies, as well as key personnel on additional projects supported by other federal agencies, state governments, and international organizations. Her methodological expertise includes social network data collection and analysis, recruitment and sampling of hidden populations, intervention development (including peer-led, network-based, and multilevel approaches), and the application of systems dynamics modeling to inform strategic planning and policy decision-making in complex health and service systems. Trained in preventive medicine and community epidemiology, interdisciplinary orientation and mixed method approach has been central to her work. She is excited to join the UConn Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research, and Service (UCEDD), bringing her extensive research and lived experience as a family member of people with developmental disabilities.
